InsuranceCostCity ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website insurancecostcity.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have.
Website usage data. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and analytics tools automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and similar usage signals.
Calculator inputs. The inputs you enter into calculators on this site (home value, state, deductible, etc.) are processed in your browser to display estimates. We do not require you to create an account to use them. Aggregated, anonymized usage of calculators may be used to improve the product.
Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to The Numbers Letter, your email address is collected and stored by Beehiiv, our newsletter provider. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter.
Contact and support email. If you email us at hello@insurancecostcity.com or one of our category-specific addresses, we receive your email address and the contents of the message and use that information only to respond.
Widget billing information. If you subscribe to the Pro embeddable widget, billing information is handled by our payment processor. We do not directly store full payment card details. The processor may share with us the email associated with the subscription and the transaction status. (See Refund & Cancellation Policy for billing details.)
We use the information described above to:

We retain newsletter subscriptions for as long as you are subscribed, plus a short period afterward for unsubscribe and audit logging. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics defaults. Contact and support emails are retained for as long as needed to handle the inquiry and any related follow-up. Widget billing records are retained as needed to administer the subscription and meet legal requirements such as tax records.
